As usual the event was very enjoyable and some students even got quite competitive. Here are a few words about the evening written by one of our Erasmus students from France. Mrs. Narinder Chauhan, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Czech Republic, gifted 100 books to Prof. Michal Klíma, Rector of Metropolitan University Prague. Ambassador remarked that these books will help in enriching the students’ knowledge about different facets of India as a country.
Multiple Modernities in Latin America Multiple Modernities in Latin America 30. 11. 2018 Author: Kateřina Březinová The international congress held by the Iberoamerican Centre of the Metropolitan University Prague and Luso-Brazilian Studies Department and KREAS project of the Charles University in Prague examined the modes of thinking about how to become modern and how to make the societies better within the Ibero-American political and cultural space, that is in Hispanic America, as well as Brazil, Spain and Portugal. It inquired about the ways modernity and modernization were understood in the past, as well as in the present day’s political and cultural processes in the region.

Mr. Sten Schwede delivered a guest lecture for students of International Relations and European Studies program entitled “Diplomatic Protocol: What does it Mean in Practice.” The lecture focused on practical aspects of diplomacy and was organised as part of the course “Etiquette and Diplomatic Protocol.”
