On this occasion, a head of the African Studies Centre Ms Tereza Němečková, got a unique opportunity to introduce a new research centre and its contribution to fulfilment of the goals of the new Czech strategy to the distinguished audience.
The Japanese Ambassador to Czechia gave a lecture to MUP students 23. 11. 2022 Author: Michal Kolmaš The Japanese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hideo Suzuki, accepted the invitation from the Department of Asian studies of Metropolitan University Prague and came on Tuesday Nov 22 to give a speech about security threats in the Indo-Pacific to MUP students.
Accessible tourism – rethinking sustainable tourism development 18. 11. 2022 Author: Trude Furunes An ongoing project between University of Stavanger and Metropolitan University Prague addresses an important topic that has received little attention in the past, that of accessible tourism. The 2-year collaboration has led to knowledge exchange, curricula and course development and learning for all stakeholders, and will impact both future education and research.

The Tenth Annual International Scientific Conference "IFRS: Global Rules & Local Use - Beyond the Numbers" 27. 10. 2022 Author: Irena Jindřichovská The tenth annual international scientific conference "IFRS: Global Rules & Local Use - Beyond the Numbers" was organized jointly by the Anglo-American University in Prague and Metropolitan University Prague as a hybrid event. The hybrid mode allowed us to meet some of the speakers in person, while also allowing access to other attendees from a greater distance. An interesting and valuable part of this year's conference was the fact that 13 Ph.D. students who presented their works here. The ambition of this conference has always been to provide a forum for young scientists to discuss and help them improve their academic performance. This goal was met as each paper was discussed and commented on by the professors and other speakers in the audience.
Pilot testing of the MELIA Observatory learning materials We have completed the pilot testing of the MELIA Observatory learning materials. Among other things, the project has created interactive presentations on media literacy for secondary school students. MUP was responsible for testing these materials which took place on 9 September and 10 October.
