European Diplomacy Amidst Russia’s War in Ukraine European Diplomacy Amidst Russia’s War in Ukraine Author: Martin Zubko Metropolitan University Prague hosted an international conference as part of a research project funded by Norway Grants titled ‘European Diplomacy Amidst Russia’s War in Ukraine - Preserving European Values’. This conference was convened with the foremost objective of accentuating the central role of European diplomacy amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The overarching theme of the event revolved around the external coherence of EU diplomacy, with a focus on using EU values and energy policies to assess its effectiveness and implementation.

Theresa Lazaro. Her speech introduced Philippine foreign policy in East Asia amidst an uneasy relationship with China and the United States, and was followed by an hour-long discussion.

Conference held within the Jean Monnet Chair program attracted over a hundred of students and produced some tantalizing discussions.
The 11th International Scientific Conference IFRS: Global Rules and Local Use – Beyond the Numbers: October 12, 2023, Prague The 11th International Scientific Conference IFRS: Global Rules and Local Use – Beyond the Numbers: October 12, 2023, Prague 13. 10. 2023 Author: editors The 11th iteration of the International Scientific Conference IFRS: Global Rules & Local Use – Beyond the Numbers, took place in a hybrid format at the Metropolitan University in Prague in collaboration with the Anglo-American University on October 12th, 2023. The inaugural address by conference founder Prof. David Alexander set the tone, addressing pressing concerns such as the decline in biodiversity. Prof. Alexander criticized the anthropocentric approach evident in initiatives like the IIRC effort, UN Sustainable Development Goals, and recent developments notably the Green Deal, emphasizing their undue focus on human interests rather than the preservation of nature.
Summer School “War in Ukraine and its Security Implications” Summer School “War in Ukraine and its Security Implications” 4. 10. 2023 Author: Šárka Kolmašová From September 11th to 15th, 2023, Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) hosted a Summer School within the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) on the "War in Ukraine and its Security Implications." This initiative brought together students and experts from Helsinki, Tartu, Warsaw, Bratislava, and Banska Bystrica to discuss the complexities of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its far-reaching security implications.

South African Business Students Visited MUP South African Business Students Visited MUP Author: Tereza Němečková On Monday, the 15th May 2023, and Tuesday, the 16th May 2023, MUP had the honour of welcoming a group of business students from our partner university in Pretoria, South Africa. Eleven students from the Tshwane School for Business and Society, accompanied by Professor Robinson, had the opportunity to experience two days of interactions with MUP students and Czech business representatives.
