The EU’s Climate Leadership: Global Solution or Green Imperialism?

On November 7th, 2024, the Metropolitan University Prague hosted a conference titled Global Climate Change Mitigation and the Role of the EU. Held under the prestigious Jean Monnet Chair program. The event gathered over 100 students alongside presenting scholars, researchers, and NGO representatives to critically assess the EU’s role in addressing global climate challenges. Centered around the thought-provoking question of whether the EU’s climate leadership is genuinely global or primarily self-serving, the conference featured two insightful panels each followed by fruitful discussions, and was complemented by a plant-based buffet that underscored the event’s green theme.

I'm thrilled to share with you my great experience during a Short Erasmus+ Mobility, where I had the opportunity to go on a journey to Trento, Italy, from April 8th to April 12th, 2024. But wait, the excitement didn't end there – after the mobility, I extended my exploration to Rome to catch up with a friend, adding another layer of delight to my adventure.

The African Studies Centre at MUP continuously aims to connect with foreign researchers and institutions. One recent outcome was the visit of Dr. Olayinka Ajala from Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom. Dr. Ajala came to screen a documentary titled 'A Place Once Called Home,' one of his research outputs. This documentary highlights the lived experiences of farmers, reasons for forced migration and displacement, and resulting livelihood transformations in Nigeria. Dr. Ajala also engaged in discussions with students about the content.
The Asian Day at MUP Offered a Unique Exhibition of Japanese Historical Items

More than a hundred current and former students of the Metropolitan University Prague attended the cultural event called Asian Day. They had the opportunity to see a unique guided exhibition of historical Japanese weapons and armor, presentations by exchange students from Japan and Taiwan, and taste selected Asian delicacies.
