17. 3. 2025 Author: Klára Krautwurstová Klára Krautwurstová, a master’s student in Asian Studies, sends her greetings from her internship at the Czech Consulate in Hong Kong and encourages others: go for it too!“The internship at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong has been one of the best professional experiences I have had so far. It is a unique opportunity to see what working in diplomacy looks like and what it means to represent the Czech Republic abroad.”
“The Czech Republic has only a small consulate in Hong Kong, but this is actually a great advantage – it allows you to get involved in all the activities the consulate offers. The main responsibilities of an intern include assisting in planning various cultural events, working on internal documents, and attending events organized by other consulates or Hong Kong institutions.”
“It is also a very interesting place given the political situation and the growing influence of the People’s Republic of China in the city. I would definitely recommend an internship at any embassy or consulate to anyone considering a career in diplomacy – it helps you find out if it’s really for you. And if you’re interested in the consulate’s activities in Hong Kong, be sure to check out their Instagram @consulategeneralczhk!”
