ESG and Sustainability in Practice: Guest Lecture by SAP Experts and Invitation to SAP Open Day
29. 4. 2025 Author: Irena Jindřichovská On April 25, 2025, a guest lecture titled "ESG and Sustainability" was held at the Metropolitan University Prague, organized by the Department of Financial Management. The guest speakers were Çağdaş Özer, Lead ESG Reporting Technology Adoption & Integration, and Mykola Vlasov, Green Ledger and Carbon Accounting expert from SAP.The lecture covered current topics in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), emphasizing the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), carbon accounting, and utilizing the SAP Sustainability Control Tower application for ESG reporting management. Students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with practical tools such as Green Ledger, enabling the effective integration of financial and carbon accounting, which is crucial for transparency and sustainability in business.
The presentation was delivered in English, with the option to ask questions in Czech, ensuring active participation and lively discussions among over 60 students, including international participants.
Invitation to SAP Open Day
As part of the cooperation between MUP and SAP, students were also invited to participate in the SAP Open Day event. This event offered students a unique opportunity to learn more about the working environment at SAP, explore career opportunities, internships, and trainee programs, and gain practical insights into life at a global leader in enterprise software solutions.

In April 2026, the Center for Security Studies and the Department of International Relations and European Studies at Metropolitan University Prague hosted thought-provoking lectures examining the evolving landscape of violent extremism. Delivered by Sean McCafferty and Adam Hanzel, both Marie Skłodowska-Curie GLOCTER Project PhD fellows, the sessions explored how terrorist actors exploit the digital environment and how new, harder-to-define forms of extremism are reshaping traditional security frameworks. Together, the lectures offered students a comprehensive look at both the online dynamics of contemporary terrorism and the emerging challenges posed by accelerationist and nihilistic violent extremist movements.
Metropolitan University Prague Receives a Gift of 74 Books on Japan

Metropolitan University Prague has received a valuable donation of books through the Read Japan grant project, organized by The Nippon Foundation with the support of the Embassy of Japan. As part of this generous gift, the university library has added 74 books on Japan, including recent academic publications, art books, and important works of Japanese fiction.
