02/12/2011 - Third Annual Academics and Practitioners Conference
The Center for Security Studies at Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) cordially invites you to attend its third annual conference for academics and practitioners’ that will take place at MUP in Prague on December 2, 2011.The conference will examine the challenges and opportunities in the realm of national security policies faced by the Visegrad Group (V4) countries as a consequence of the recent budgetary cuts in their national security expenditures. In particular, the presenters were asked to examine the following topics:
- The recent strategic security and/or defense reviews conducted in V4 countries
- The potential for sharing and/or pooling of certain military capacities among V4 countries
- The participation of V4 countries in major security arrangements and/or organizations (especially NATO, EU, OSCE, UN)
- The bilateral security relations of V4 countries with major players in the EU and beyond, in particular with the United States and/or Russia
The conference will consist of two panels with academics and practitioners, respectively. Each V4 country will have a national representative in both the academics and practitioners’ panels. The opening keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Jiří Šedivý, the First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic.
The conference will take place on December 2, 2011 in Prague at our Žižkov premises (Prokova 16, Prague 3). Its working language is English only. Slavnostním předáním certifikátů studentům, kteří absolvovali kurz pro General Sales Agenty v oblasti marketingu leteckých společností a destinačního managementu, letos poprvé vyvrcholila doplňková výuka bakalářského i magisterského studia na Katedře cestovního ruchu.
Studenti Digitální ekonomiky se podíleli na nové studii Czech Founders

Startupy zvažují odchod z ČR, ukazují studenti Digitální ekonomiky Martin Přech a Jakub Hunák v nově vydané studii. Pomoci může evropský „28. režim“, má to však háček. Aktuální data ukazují, že více než čtvrtina českých zakladatelů startupů (27,2 %) zvažuje přesun svého sídla do zahraničí. Tento odchod často není pouhým rozmarem, ale přímým požadavkem investorů. Celých 59,5 % startupů se zahraničním kapitálem dostalo doporučení relokovat se do zemí s příznivější legislativou, jako je Irsko, Velká Británie, Nizozemsko nebo USA.
