EU-GLOCTER PhD Students Meet in Prague for Fourth Training at MUP
16. 12. 2025 Author: Oldřich Bureš It was a pleasure to host the PhD students from the EU-GLOCTER project for two days in Prague for our fourth training at Metropolitní univerzita Praha.Many thanks to all our great speakers – Eduard Petiška, Tomáš Gavlas, Jacqueline Dufalla, Ph.D., Sarah Leonard, Jakub Charvát, Martina Varkočková, Vít Beneš, and Michal Kolmaš. Special thanks to Lukáš Vilím from the National Center for Combating Terrorism, Extremism and Cybercrime for briefing us on the Current Threats Landscape in the Czech Republic, and to our colleagues from MUP’s Media Studies Department, led by Jan Jirák and Martin Charvát, for preparing a special session in MUP’s TV Studio – it was great to see our PhD. students on TV.

A new Centre for European Energy Policy and Security

A new research centre is being established at MUP to complement the Centre for Security Studies and other regionally focused research centres – the Centre for African Studies, the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies and the Centre for Ibero-American Studies. It will operate under the Department of International Relations and European Studies and the leadership of Dr. Lukáš Tichý.
ACCA Qualification Opportunities for MUP Students

Metropolitan University Prague hosted guest presentations focused on ACCA professional qualification opportunities for students of economics and management programmes. The presentations were delivered by Dr. Pavel Procházka, Business Relationship Manager at the international professional body ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
