The Department of International Business cordially invites you to a guest lecture by Ing. Timofej Timofejev, an expert in customs procedures, who will share practical insights into international trade and customs compliance.The lecture will address the following topics:
- The customs process in practice – the journey of a shipment from order placement to its release into free circulation.
- The role of Trade Compliance in companies – the classification of goods (HS/TARIC), cooperation with customs brokers, and internal compliance processes.
- Prohibitions and restrictions in international trade – dual-use goods, export controls, and sanction regimes.
- US customs policy and its impact on global trade – tariffs, trade restrictions, blockades of selected countries or technologies and their impact on international supply chains.
- Common mistakes and risks in international trade – incorrect classification, origin of goods, and declared value.
- Practical case studies – selected real-world situations in the field of trade compliance and customs controls.
A discussion will follow.

A new Centre for European Energy Policy and Security

A new research centre is being established at MUP to complement the Centre for Security Studies and other regionally focused research centres – the Centre for African Studies, the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies and the Centre for Ibero-American Studies.
