In the past 20 years, UN peace operations have been formed with military of non-Western, non-rich countries. Furthermore, the growing number of Non-UN peace operations has changed the nature of the peace missions. The lecture analyses the role of China and the European Union in such a change by re-examining the history of multilateral intervention and looking into the data of current peace operations.
