The lecture will first give some key insights about the Moroccan energy sector and then raise the question of energy dependence and the security of supply as the main energy challenges facing the country.  The lecture will also highlight the efforts made by Moroccan government to solve the question of energy security and dependence through the renewable energy strategy, and explore the country’s potential in terms of solar, wind and hydropower.  At the end, some political, economic and technical obstacles to the Moroccan energy strategy will briefly be discussed.
