Zambia is located in the southern part of the African continent and is one of the countries extremely rich in mineral resources, yet today it remains one of the poorest countries in the world. For this reason, it is among the priority countries for Czech foreign development cooperation. Every year, several million Czech crowns are directed to Zambia in the form of development aid, just from the Czech budget. Similarly, Zambia receives development aid from many other countries. But does this development aid truly help Zambia, or does it actually do more harm than good?
