Erasmus Welcome Boat Party 28. 2. 2017 Author: Barbora Josefína Vochozková With the arrival of the new semester at the MUP, a new group of students from around the world were also welcomed. The vast majority of them come from partner universities in Europe to study through the Erasmus+ program. For many students, this is their first experience studying abroad, so it is the duty of the school and active members of the Buddy team to welcome incoming students properly.
ExxonMobil Continues its Cooperation with the Metropolitan University Prague 9. 2. 2017 Author: Tereza Němečková Department of International Business at the Metropolitan University Prague pursues its effort to develop cooperation with private companies and public administration institutions linked to foreign trade disciplines. The purpose is to enable students to have a direct contact with them, and thus allow students to better understand how these companies and institutions work. Last but not least, the aim of such efforts is also to introduce students to the various possibilities lying ahead of them both during study, and after that. One of these opportunities has been offered by ExxonMobil, an international oil and gas company.
MUP Students Visited the French Institute in Prague 1. 2. 2017 Authors: Tatyana Gavrilenko, Romana Vančáková Every year, a group of MUP students (most of whom study French) visit the French Institute in the centre of Prague. This trip has been organised for years by Ms. Olga Matič and the event has always met with success. Thanks to Ms. Matič’s contacts there, MUP students recieve a very cordial welcome and are then given a special tour which goes beyond what the everyday visitor would experience.
IRES Alumni Reunion 29. 11. 2016 Authors: Mitchell Belfer, Kateřina Bartošová On 16 November 2016, the Department of International Relations and European Studies (IRES) held its first ever Alumni event that brought former and current faculty and students together at the Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) Žižkov building. The Alumni event not only marked a decade since the foundation of IRES but it also produced a springboard for celebrating the 15th Anniversary of founding of MUP.
Conference on Contemporary Issues and Trends in South and Southeast and East Asian Societies Successfully Closed 22. 11. 2016 Authors: Michal Kolmaš, Maria Strašáková On November 11, 2016, the Department of Asian Studies and the Center for Indo-Pacific Studies at Metropolitan University Prague organized yet another of its annual conferences dedicated to Asian countries. It was for the eighth time that a group of leading World and Czech specialists met in the premises of the Žižkov Building of MUP to discuss contemporary issues in Asia. Their presentations were followed by a number of distinguished guests as well as many students of the University.
